Appearance

Miyako is on the short side for her breed, and her chubby build only accentuates this. Snarl-free fur, soft pawpads, and a round belly all give the appearance of a canine unused to the harsh elements of the world.

Her most striking feature is her eyes, one blue and one yellow. This is due to her complete heterochromia mutation.

Miyako’s pelt is marbled in various shades of chocolate and ginger, sharply contrasting with a white underbelly. Freckles of cinnamon and cream dot her coat, which is typically maintained to perfection. Miyako spends hours maintaining her clean appearance and is extremely proud of it.

Inventory

Another aspect of her appearance that Miyako takes pride in is her ornate clothing and jewelry.

A blue silk shawl is draped across her shoulders, adorned with three golden roses, a symbol of her family line.

Her necklace and earrings are made of gold and aquamarine crystals, chosen to compliment her two-toned eyes.

And finally, golden caps adorn her claws, glittering whenever she moves.

Miyako meticulously maintains each of these items, washing away stains and dirt whenever she can. Despite her time in the wilderness, they look pristine.

A reference of Miyako, described above.

Likes
Flowers, clear and warm weather, expensive jewelry, attention, praise, power
Dislikes
Mud, blood, snakes and spiders, filth, combat, rain, being insulted
Fears
Losing control, being abandoned, being punished for her wrongs
Quirks
Always smells like flowers, takes a while to adapt to new things, makes sure to carry herself with dignity and grace

Miyako takes great care to present herself very meticulously. Her public image, she hopes, is as spotless as her appearance, and she sees nearly every interaction as a challenge to make everyone like her. Despite no longer being a leader, Miyako still carries herself and behaves like a queen -- making sure to appear friendly and dignified, playing the social game as if she was born to do it.

In reality, just beneath the surface, Miyako is vindictive, vain, and hiding a lot more secrets than she lets on. She is far more focused on giving the appearance of kindness than actually being a good person, but she's so skilled at manipulating others that even canines closest to her are often shocked at her true nature. Many of her social relations are built on a web of lies, and as soon as someone takes a step to tear them down, Miyako is fast and cruel to react.

Summoning

Level One: Metal

0/2 Strikes Used

AURUKINETICALLY ENHANCED CONDITION
Whenever in physical contact with gold, Miyako can choose to enter a physically enhanced state. She becomes stronger, faster, and with unnaturally quick reflexes. However, she can only maintain this state for a maximum of twenty minutes at a time before using a strike, and using it drains her energy in proportion to the amount of time she spent in it. Since Miyako’s jewelry is made of gold and almost always on her person, she can enter this state almost at will.
AURUKINETIC HEALING
Being in contact with gold also gives Miyako another ability. It gives her the power to heal wounds, both of herself and others. She draws energy from the metal itself for this ability, meaning her ability to heal is constrained by how much gold she is in contact with. Although she can push these limits to some extent, pushing them too far — currently, healing major wounds — will cause a strike.
Strike Effects
With each strike, more and more of Miyako’s body becomes gold from the inside out. Her blood becomes liquid gold, her bones turn fully into gold, and so forth. This unfortunately means that, due to the risk of her vital organs turning into gold and no longer working, Miyako is limited to only being able to use 2 strikes before her death.

Relationships

Outside The Packs

Eiko Tenshi
Miyako's ex husband. The thought of him fills her with anger, and every day Miyako regrets not being able to take revenge on him. She blames Eiko for everything that went wrong in her life, believing that he drove her to kill her sister.
Mhysa Warsaw
Miyako's sister. The two grew up together, and Mhysa always seemed to be the favorite twin -- of the family, of society, of anyone, really. It seemed that favoritism was shared by Eiko as well. Miyako doesn't regret killing her; in fact, all she feels looking back on the fact is a brutal satisfaction.

Årelang

Myu Dream Tenshi
Miyako's daughter. She was shocked to find Myu in Årelang, and watches her closely, knowing that she has the power to destroy her reputation at any moment. However, Miyako arrogantly believes that if Myu does end up posing a threat, she has the capabilities to solve that if need be.
Sahkyo Warsaw
Unbeknownst to her, Sahkyo is her niece. Miyako is scared of Sahkyo in the same way she would be scared of a loose cannon, believing that she simply has anger issues and volatile powers. She has no idea of the targeted violence Sahkyo is holding back.
Náli Tenshi
Miyako's son. Náli is the reason she joined the pack; in fact, he led her here. Miyako sees him as pathetic and weak and holds no love for him, but does enjoy toying with him.
Salix
Miyako's former friend. However, due to her own cruelty, Salix has been avoiding her more and more. Miyako is annoyed by this and views him as a traitor.

History

Before Årelang

Miyako was born to the leaders of a distant pack, Kita Norlyn, that was far from Myrkur. From birth, herself and her twin sister Mhysa were destined to lead the pack — but the two were far from royalty. Their pack was one in a veritable sea of others, with barely any influence or power to speak of.

Due to Miyako’s intelligence and leadership abilities, she was the obvious choice for leader. And yet, despite this… everyone seemed to gravitate towards her twin sister. It was as if Miyako simply faded into the background when her twin was next to her. Friends, the favor of the pack, her parents’ favoritism, a lover… her twin had it all, leaving Miyako in the dust. Even though she would be the next leader, it still seemed impossible to crawl out of her sister’s shadow.

Miyako tried not to let it get to her, focusing wholeheartedly on training for her future duties and winning the pack’s favor from her sister’s grasp. But the only thing that worked was entirely out of her control — her sister declared one night that she didn’t even want to lead, leaving the entire position open to Miyako.

It was a hollow victory. Despite the position that Miyako had gained, none of the pack’s elders congratulated her or made an effort to celebrate; all they expressed were regrets. Regrets that her sister didn’t want to lead the pack, as if Miyako herself was nothing more than a backup plan.

Even worse, the man Mhysa had been betrothed to, the one she was in love with, was put in an arranged marriage with Miyako instead. She couldn't even look in Eiko's eyes without being reminded of her sister.

But it didn’t matter. Her husband could be ignored; he was more for appearances anyway. Miyako dove straight into her newfound responsibilities, and over a span of several years slowly managed to leverage her pack from a position of no influence to one of the most powerful in the region. During this time, Mhysa mysteriously left one day without warning or explanation. Search parties didn't manage to find her, and eventually they were forced to give up. Miyako thought this was strange but was relieved her sister was gone at last.

The pair ended up having two children, Myu and Náli. Her husband had withdrawn from the marriage, and so Miyako was forced to deal with her pregnancy and subsequent birth almost entirely by herself. It was made even worse when she discovered that her husband and sister had been having an affair behind her back before her sister left the pack. Mhysa had fled because she hadn't wanted Miyako to discover her secret.

As the leader of a now extremely influential pack, Miyako could not handle such an extreme blight on her husband. The secret could not get out. Taking the matter into her own hands, she spent months tracking Mhysa down to punish her, although she could not punish her husband without raising suspicion of an affair. When she caught Mhysa, Miyako didn't hesitate -- she murdered her. It was the first time she had ever truly given into her anger, and it felt good. She was forced to flee before dealing the final blow, but it was impossible for Mhysa to survive; she had been mangled to the edge of mutilation. Miyako returned to the pack, told everyone that she had simply taken an extended vacation, and tried to pick up the pieces. But the first cracks in Miyako’s image had already begun to appear…

Soon after, Myu left Kita Norlyn. She couldn't take the pressure of being Miyako's daughter anymore; one day she was just gone.

It all crumbled when Náli, having found his mother's extended departure suspicious, figured out the truth behind Mhysa's disappearance and death and revealed it to Eiko first, and then the whole pack. Miyako begged and pleaded that it was a lie, but the evidence was too strong, and the army she had helped raise chased her out of Kita Norlyn, wounding her shoulder in the process. Miyako was incensed. She had lost it all, and it was Náli's fault. She snuck back into the territory that night and caught him. However, before she managed to murder him in the same way she killed her sister, Náli fled.

It was a long pursuit, but Miyako had nothing left to lose anymore and she was brutally persistent. She followed Náli for at least a month, catching up to him whenever he paused to rest. She finally caught him near the Radaga and ripped his throat out. Unfortunately, her victory didn't last long; Náli was swiftly discovered by Myu and Sahkyo -- both Årelang members -- and taken for medical treatment. Miyako was annoyed at first, but then realized that this presented an opportunity. She refused to give up on her goal of revenge, and joined Årelang soon after Náli did.
